A SIGN OF RESPECT can help you make a difference.
A Sign of Respect is a community driven social enterprise (sustainable business that exists for social impact) that promotes culturally safe and respectful neighbourhoods by providing practical ways for local people and businesses to show respect First Nations peoples. Supporter packages are designed to help you respectfully and symbolically Act, Learn and Connect with First Nations culture. As recorded in the Uluru Statement from the Heart (2017), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander tribes were the first sovereign Nations of the Australian continent and owned the land through their laws, customs and relationship with it. This ownership or sovereignty has never been relinquished and exists alongside the sovereignty understood through colonisation of the land by non-indigenous Australians. Publicly recognising and acknowledging First Nations people, culture and Country is a practical way to show A Sign of Respect.
